Yarn Specifications

Number metric

The first number in Nm, or „Number metric,” indicates the thickness of the yarn, with higher values signifying finer yarn, while the second number indicates how many plies are twisted together. This range showcases the versatility of our yarns, making them suitable for various applications.

What is Tex?

„Tex” is a unit of measurement that defines the weight of yarn, representing the mass in grams per 1,000 meters. Lower tex values indicate finer yarns, while higher tex values represent thicker, heavier yarns.

What are Microns?

The micron count measures the diameter of wool fibers and plays a crucial role in determining the softness and texture of the wool. Wool with a lower micron count is softer and ideal for garments, while wool with a higher micron count is more durable and better suited for heavy-duty textiles.
