Wool care recomendations
To ensure your wool items maintain their beauty and quality, it’s essential to provide them with proper care. Always begin by looking at the care label on your wool product for any specific instructions.
HAND WASHING:
- Gently wash in lukewarm water (30°C or below) with wool-safe detergent or soap
- Carefully rinse the item in lukewarm water until all soap is removed
- Do not soak dyed wool products in water for long periods
- Avoid rubbing or wringing the wool, as this can cause the fibers to felt or stretch.
MACHINE WASHING:
- Use the wool or delicate cycle on your washing machine and use a wool-safe detergent
- Set the temperature to cold or lukewarm water (30°C or below)
- Place wool items in a mesh laundry bag to prevent them from snagging or stretching inside the machine
- Use color-absorbing tissues when washing colored wool items
- Wash only with same or similar colour wool items
- Never use bleach, fabric softeners, or harsh chemicals on wool, as it can weaken or damage the fibers
- Do not wash wool items with denim, towels, or other heavy fabrics
DRYING:
- Flat dry wool item on a clean, dry towel or a drying rack
- Gently reshape the item, pulling it back into its original shape if it has stretched
- Dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources, as it can cause wool to shrink
- Do not tumble dry, as the heat and mechanical action can cause severe shrinkage and felting
- Avoid hanging wool items to dry, as the weight of the wet fabric can stretch and distort the shape
IRONING:
- If ironing is necessary, use a damp pressing cloth between the wool item and the iron to protect the fabric
- Iron on the reverse side of the wool garment to prevent shine or marks on the fabric
